Approximation of functions

We can approximate a piecewise continuous and derivable function f(t) by a weighted sum of unit step functions. The applet visualizes this approximation.

The first coordinate system allows you to define the function f(t) using the mouse. You may shortly press the left mouse-button to generate discrete points that will be connected by a line. If you press the left mouse-button continuously you can sketch the function free-hand. Alternatively, functions from a preselection may be choosen. A popup-menue (right mouse-button) allows to manipulate the apperance of each plot individually.

No JDK 1.2 support for APPLET!!
